Yesteryear 1 is a handcut portrait that reminds us of the golden age of the past. Using a transfer process, I created the main image by removing ink from a photograph and adhering it onto a blank sheet of watercolor paper. This creates the organic white texture covering the artwork and adds to the aged effect of the image. Each pattern and shape was cut out by hand using a precision knife and represents hours of meticulous focus. All the materials used in the artwork meet archival standards.
